Roo (26-025)'s Story

WAITLISTED - STILL ACCEPTING INTEREST

Introducing Roo!

Playful Funny Loving Energetic

Personality: Roo is a young, energetic Great Dane with a wonderfully playful and affectionate personality. She is a funny girl who loves being involved in whatever her people are doing and is happiest when she gets plenty of attention, playtime, and snuggles.

Socialness: Roo loves people and wants to make friends with everyone she meets. She may bark when someone new arrives, but she warms up quickly and soon becomes affectionate and eager to interact. Because she is young and does not always realize just how big she is, she should be supervised around young children to make sure her enthusiasm doesn't accidentally knock anyone over.

Roo is very playful with other dogs and especially enjoys spending time with her foster sibling, Jesse. She can be adopted as an only dog, but she would love to have another canine companion in her forever home. Jesse is also available for adoption, so families looking to add two Danes may want to consider keeping this playful pair together.

Roo does not have much experience with cats, so slow and structured introductions would be needed in a home with feline family members.

Likes:

Playing with toys
Playing with other dogs
Snuggling with her family
Being around her people
Running and playing outdoors

Training: Roo is crate trained and housebroken. She listens well when it is time to go into her crate and is not destructive when left uncrated. She does not chew on inappropriate household items. Roo will benefit from continued work on leash manners and learning not to jump up on people when she gets excited. She is a smart girl who is eager to interact and learn, and continued positive reinforcement should help her become an even more well-mannered companion.

Health: She is in good health with no current concerns. Roo was just spayed (9/25/26) and is ready to meet her forever family as soon as she is done healing

Forever Home Wishlist:

A physical fence is preferred so Roo can safely run and play freely
She might do well in an apartment setting. She is approximately 93 pounds.
A family willing to provide plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation
She can handle a typical workday alone if needed, but if she is left alone for 8+ hours, her family will need to make sure she receives plenty of activity and enrichment
Another playful dog in the home is preferred (Jesse would make a wonderful canine companion if a family is interested in adopting two Danes)
Continued training, especially with jumping and leash manners
Supervision around young children due to her size and enthusiasm

Fun Fact: Roo gets very excited when her foster family comes home. After a day apart, she is ready to celebrate their return! Her foster also thinks she got her name from the sounds she makes when she plays. She "roos" whenever she is happy or playing!

If you think Roo will be a great addition to your family, please reach out to us by following one of the options below.

1.
