Ronan's Story

Ronan is a beautiful red male with a fantastic personality. He is affectionate, loving, cuddly and very well behaved in the house. He is in a foster home with a 7 year old boy and Ronan is wonderful with him. In September Ronan was a special guest at a Homeless Pets club at a local elementary school and he was so good with all the kids. He was a big hit. https://www.fox5atlanta.com/video/1721421

Ronan came to us with injuries to his front legs. He was found wandering in South Georgia missing part of his right front leg and with damage to his left front leg. X-rays showed that he was shot with a shotgun, which apparently blew off half of one leg and broke the other leg in at least 2 places. Who knows how long he was struggling on his own on a broken front leg.

We feel Ronan would benefit from a prosthetic leg on the right and possibly a brace for the left front leg. He is getting measured for both on October 7. Without either of these he can still get around, still enjoys going for short walks and loves to play. We just want to do what we can to prolong the life of his "good" leg by taking some of the pressure off.

Ronan needs a home without many or any stairs. His foster home has about 3 steps to get into the back yard and he can handle that fine. He cannot comfortably go up and down entire flights of stairs.

Ronan has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He weighs a little under 80 lbs. Ronan's adoption fee is $250.
