Ron's Story
Meet Ron - A Gentle Soul Looking for His Chance

Ron is a handsome young pup, approximately 6-8 months old, who is still waiting for the happy ending his two sisters have already found. While the girls from his litter have been adopted, Ron and his brother remain behind, hoping someone will see the wonderful dogs they can become.

Ron is fully vetted, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and current on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. His mom is a Chihuahua mix under 20 lbs, and his dad is a Pit Bull/Dachshund mix under 40 lbs, giving him a unique look and an even more unique personality.

Life hasn't been ideal for Ron. Due to limited space in rescue, he and his brother have remained with the owners of their parents. Unfortunately, their caregivers simply don't have the time needed to properly socialize young puppies. As a result, Ron spends much of his time in a kennel and only gets occasional opportunities to attend adoption events or work on socialization with rescue volunteers.

Despite this challenging start, Ron has so much potential.

Ron is a sweet, quiet boy who loves treats and absolutely adores children. They bring out the best in him. He currently lives with his parents and two other adult male dogs, but he doesn't actively seek out canine friendships and would be perfectly happy focusing on his human family instead. He is pretty growly to other puppies and adult dogs we have brought around him.

New situations can be overwhelming for Ron. He is very shy and tends to shut down when meeting new people or entering unfamiliar environments. He is still working on potty training and has not yet learned to enjoy walking on a leash.
Because of this, Ron needs a patient, dedicated adopter or foster who understands that trust takes time and is willing to celebrate the small victories along the way. A securely fenced yard is best, or an owner willing to work with leash training.

What Ron needs most is someone who sees beyond his fear and recognizes the loving companion hiding underneath. With consistency, kindness, positive reinforcement, and a safe place to grow, this young pup has every opportunity to blossom into an amazing adult dog.

We are actively considering serious foster homes near California, Missouri, in addition to adopters, as Ron urgently needs more individualized attention and socialization than he is currently receiving.

If you have a gentle heart, a little patience, and room in your home for a puppy who deserves a second chance, Ron may be waiting just for you.
If you are serious and ready to add a new addition to your family, please reach out to Michaela call or text 660-723-5010.

Meet & greet required at potential adopters home!!
