Rome's Story

Meet Rome!

Rome is a 6-month-old bundle of love looking for his second chance at forever. He was adopted as a young puppy but recently returned when his family realized that a puppy simply wasn't the right fit for their lifestyle. While we're sad things didn't work out, we're excited to help Rome find the perfect family that will love him for the wonderful dog he is.

Rome's dad was a Goldendoodle mix and his mom was a Beagle mix, though you'd never guess it by looking at him! With his curly coat and handsome markings, he looks more like a Springer Spaniel. At around 30–35 pounds, he's a great medium-sized pup with plenty of growing left to do.

Rome is kennel trained and potty trained, which gives him a great start in life. Like many puppies his age, he still has a few naughty habits we're working on, including counter surfing and jumping up to say hello. The good news? Rome is eager to please, incredibly sweet, and truly wants to be a good boy. He just needs a family willing to continue his training and help him learn good manners.

This lovable pup has lived with children and currently shares his foster home with both dogs and cats. He is submissive with other animals and gets along beautifully with his furry foster siblings. More than anything, Rome loves being with his people and soaking up all the affection he can get. He is a total love bug with a heart as big as his puppy-dog eyes.

Rome also loves to run and play outdoors, so a securely fenced yard is a must for him. Whether he's zooming around the yard, playing with canine friends, or cuddling up after a day of adventures, Rome is happiest when he's surrounded by love.

If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate puppy who is past the tiny puppy stage but still has all the fun, personality, and potential of a young dog, Rome may be your perfect match.

Rome is available for adoption through Cause for Paws Rescue and is ready to find the forever family he deserves.

Cause For Paws's Adoption Policy
In order to encourage folks to rescue homeless Orphans, we try to make the rescue experience as non-invasive and pleasant as possible. First, an application is completed prior to meeting any of our orphans. Since we do not have a shelter, it’s important to be able to pre-qualify folks that will be making appointments with fosters, to meet any of our orphans. We do a vet check, to verify all current or previous dogs are up to date on vaccines, heartworm testing, heartworm prevention, and are either spayed or neutered. We may also contact references listed on the application when there is no previous vet information, or where more information is needed. We’ll then contact you to arrange a home visit, which is merely an opportunity to ask and answer any questions regarding our process. Since most of our orphans have already been in a situation that was not right for them, we want to do whatever it takes to allow them to succeed. It is not our intent to set a dog or a family up for failure.
