Roman

Roman is a gentle giant in every sense of the word. This Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix is sweet, affectionate, and surprisingly silly for such a big guy. He even gallops when he runs, which is about as adorable as it sounds. He came to us as a stray, so we don't know much about his past, but his calm, obedient nature makes it clear he's had good people in his life before.<br/><br/>Roman does well with other large dogs and is friendly with cats. He's fairly good on leash, fully housebroken, and knows sit. He's got a protective streak too; he'll alert bark at strangers, so he takes a little time to warm up to new faces, but once he's comfortable he is all cuddles. Car rides aren't his favorite to start, but he settles in nicely once he's loaded up.<br/><br/>Roman does have a genetic deformity (was seen by a vet and cleared), so long hikes and intense exercise aren't in the cards for him. He's better suited to a semi-active home with a yard where he can move at his own pace.
