Roman is nothing short of stunning in his appearance and his heart is just as amazing despite all he has been through. Roman was dumped off the 33 bypass several months ago and left to fend for himself in the summer heat, summer storms, and bugs galore. When he was finally trapped, you could clearly see a combination of emotions in his eyes ... relief and fear, an obvious combo leaving him unsure of his life on a whole new level. Shelter life was too overwhelming and confusing for him and so to us he came. After a few days of time to just rest and reset, Rome has decided that indoor life is the best and he seeks human companionship with a slow and cautious approach. Once he settles into routine, Roman is all teenage Shepherd and loves to play with other dogs or just chill in the shade outside as long as he can see his human. He appears housebroken, rides well in the car, and is learning to walk on leash without dragging the person on the other end. An adult home who knows the breed, has the time and patience to further expand his horizons, and a confident and playful resident dog would be ideal for him. We are working on exposing him to cats but unsure of that suitability. We estimate Roman to be about 18mohths, a slender 70lbs and neutered.
