Rolo's Story
Dear Potential Forever Family,

Hi, I’m Rolo! I’m a male English Cocker Spaniel mix and about seven years old. I was rescued from East Valley Shelter where I was brought in as a stray with a really hurt and chaffed-looking nose. Luckily we’ve got it figured out now after having a biopsy and discovered I have what’s called Discoid Lupus Erythematosus (DLE) which is localized to my nose and very treatable. The doctors think my nose was in bad shape after having too much sun exposure. As a preventative measure whenever I go outside, my foster mum puts doggie SPF on my nose. I also have a hat and visor to help protect me from the sun. I love going on walks, but I’m not the dog for hiking or the beach since I shouldn’t be in the sun for prolonged periods. In addition to SPF, I have a prescription for prednisone (a very affordable medication) that I’ll likely always be on. I’m very active and my foster parents swear I’m younger than seven-years-old based on my energy levels. We’ve been working on basic training and I try my best to listen... luckily I am a really smart pup and am picking up on all my learning skills with zest! I have a bubbly personality and love to be by my persons’ side at all times. Even though I have lupus, it is very manageable and I am overall in great heath! I’ve had recent blood panels as well as a dental when I was neutered, and of course am fully vaccinated and microchipped. I will thrive in a cozy environment with a parent who loves cuddles, is consistent and can provide guidance, and who wants a sweet yet playful companion. If you’re looking for the ultimate best buddy, then I’m the spaniel for you!

If you live in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area and would like to meet Rolo, please complete our online Adoption Application and we will be in touch. **Please note we only adopt in Los Angeles County and you must be at least 25-years-old.**

Adoption Application: http://www.beoplesbuddies.org/#!adoption-application/c1g7e

Visit our website to learn more about our foster-to-adopt process: www.beoplesbuddies.org

Please no calls.
