Roger (26-200)'s Story

6/1/26: A very nice foster trainer has picked me up today to learn more about me and see how I can behave in a home setting. I will not be available for adoption until I have been evaluated by the trainer. Once Roger is ready to go to his forever home, we will post an update with more information about this handsome boy!

---

5/23/26: Roger is not yet ready to be adopted, as he is still taking time to adjust and learn that the world can be a safe place.

At this stage, Roger remains very shy and unsure of his surroundings. New sights, sounds, and interactions can feel overwhelming for him, and he is still in the early process of decompressing from everything he has experienced and endured.

Roger has also never been on a leash before, so even basic handling and everyday routines are completely new and can feel uncertain for him. He is just beginning to understand what it means to feel guided and supported by people.

Because of all of this, Roger will need at minimum a couple of weeks to settle in, build confidence, and begin to feel more secure before he is ready to meet potential adopters.

We know there is a gentle, trusting dog underneath his uncertainty, but right now he needs patience, consistency, and space to simply be. Once he is ready, we will update his profile so the right person can begin that important journey with him at the right time.

---

5/18/26: Hello, everyone! I would like to say that I have just arrived at Char-Wills on 05/18/2026. There will be more information to come in the next week or so as I get settled in!
