Meet ROCKY ROCKO Rocky Rocko came to us as a stray January 18, fearful and overwhelmed, and responded poorly to shelter life. This led to behavior we didn't know that we could trust. Consistent work with staff and vetted behavioral volunteers brought down his walls and showed the intelligent, strong dog Rocky is. Training & trust-building must continue in his new home for Rocky to be his best self. Ideal adopter: experienced Rottweiler handler who can provide structure, consistency, and continued training. Rocky can be unsure with new people and does best with thoughtful introductions and clear leadership. Once comfortable, he is affectionate, enjoys belly rubs, and bonds closely with his person. He participates in playgroup at the shelter and enjoys interacting with other dogs. Dog-friendly Adult home preferred (teens 16+OK) Best suited for experienced owners. City of Henderson Animal Care and Control's Adoption Policy

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control does require an adoption application to be completed prior to adoption. The information includes your name, address, phone number, and email. Please return application in person. No online adoptions. All current dogs/cats must be sterilized and current on rabies to adopt from our shelter. Anyone can adopt from the shelter, not just Henderson residents. The shelter does reserve the right to deny an adoption if the potential adopter fails to meet standards. Adoption fees. Cats/kittens are adopted for $80 each. Dogs/puppies are adopted for $90 each. Ferrets are adopted for $70 each. Bunnies are adopted for $35 each. These fees include the routine vaccines, spay or neuter surgery if not already done, microchip ID and registration, and a rabies tag or Henderson License (depending on where you live).
