Meet Rocky,<br/><br/>a 17-lb, 1-year-old Shih Tzu who is ready to find his forever home!<br/><br/>Background:<br/><br/>Rocky came into rescue when his family could no longer care for him.<br/><br/>Breed:<br/><br/>Rocky and Molly came from a home that bred Shih Tzus.<br/><br/>The owner died and the dogs were taken into rescue. We do believe these dogs are purebred Shih Tzus.<br/><br/>Personality<br/><br/>: Rocky is a typical Shih Tzu, sweet, loving and looking for attention. He is a very chill low key young dog. Rocky is somewhat shy, but after a bark or two he will warm up and want attention.<br/><br/>Health:<br/><br/>Rocky is groomed, neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.<br/><br/>Ideal Home:<br/><br/>Rocky is wonderful with all people and dogs of all sizes. He would thrive in a home with older children, as he absolutely loves attention and would enjoy playing with either human or dog siblings. Rocky is play biting hands (nibbling) and we are working to correct this behavior. This is a new behavior for Rocky which started when he moved to a new foster home.<br/><br/>Rocky does use his crate to sleep during the day but prefers to sleep in a bed with his human. As a young dog, he would benefit greatly from someone who is home for most of the day. Rocky has always lived with other dogs, and we believe he would do best in a home with another canine companion. However, if there is an adult who is home most of the time to provide him with the attention, activity and training he needs, Rocky could also be an only dog. Rocky is not appropriate for an apartment yet. He does not like being on a leash. He is working on his leash training skills but he is not there yet.<br/><br/>Adoption Fee: Rocky's adoption fee of $400 helps offset the cost of medical expenses.
