He's a 50lbs neutered male with a bright, friendly personality and a playful puppy spirit. Rocky is energetic, curious, and full of life - a true little adventurer!<br/>Rocky is clever and quick to understand people. With his sharp instincts and eagerness to please, he's likely to respond very well to training. Rocky is extremely friendly and loves people. Rocky can be a bit shy at first with people but once he gets to know you, he loves giving lots of kisses (be prepared for some joyful slobber showers) and nibbling on you gently to show just how much he adores you. While he hasn't met young children yet, his warm nature suggests he could adapt well with proper introductions. <br/>He's also very social with other dogs. He's playful and friendly, but also respectful enough to back off and entertain himself if the other dog isn't interested; he does not like dogs that play too rough. He shows no aggression over food and loves sharing his snacks with his foster brother. He has not been exposed to cats.<br/><br/>*Energy & Exercise*<br/><br/>Rocky's energy level is around 3-4 out of 5. He enjoys long walks and loves exploring but may still be slightly timid in unfamiliar situations. He's working on walking on leash without pulling with his foster family and has improved so much! However, he gets very excited when he sees birds and other animals and will start pulling. He's a quick study so will pick up things quickly with continued training and patience. Rocky is a young pup with so much potential!<br/><br/>*House Manners*<br/><br/>Potty: Outdoor potty trained<br/>Separation anxiety: None<br/>Barking: Mild; might bark at people outside<br/>Food/toy aggression: None<br/>Prey drive: Might try to chase birds/small animals when outdoors<br/><br/>*What Makes Rocky Special*<br/><br/>Rocky is a goofy, affectionate, and intelligent young dog with a big heart. He loves everyone he meets, plays wonderfully with other furry friends, and shows a great balance of sociability and independence. He's full of charm, learns quickly, and brings so much joy and warmth wherever he goes.<br/>Rocky is ready to find a loving family who can guide him as he grows, enjoy his affectionate personality, and give him a happy, active life.<br/><br/>*Rescue Story: Rocky & Adele*<br/><br/>Rocky and Adele (also available for adoption) were found in a remote rural field where a group of stray dogs had been roaming. A mother dog had given birth to five puppies, but tragically, three were already lost when rescuers found the site. Only Rocky and Adele survived and were safely brought in.<br/>Their mother and father, believed to be long-time strays, were extremely wary of humans and could never be captured despite months of effort. Rescuers continued to leave food, but eventually the adult dogs disappeared either having moved elsewhere or having faced a sad fate. Rocky and Adele, the two surviving pups, have since grown into loving, gentle dogs ready for a safe forever home.
