Rocky's Story

Rocky is a phenomenal dog and we just can't say enough about him to describe how awesome he is, but we will try:

Rocky's story is a sad one. He started out as a street pup in Egypt. Yes, Egypt! He was way too friendly for his own good and he fell victim to some evil teenagers who lured him to a building, held him basically captive for a week and abused him. When they were finished with him, they tossed him from a four-story building and left him for dead. The wonderful woman who had been feeding him for months had been searching for him in his absence and she is the one who found him battered and beaten and rushed him to the hospital.

He was nursed back to health and , like most of God's creatures, he has proven how very resilient he is. Amazingly, he still loves us humans and is soooo trusting and still so incredibly friendly and inspiringly HAPPY!! Sure, he's got a crooked foot due to a fracture he suffered from the fall and a couple little hang ups like fear of loud noises, but he's AWESOME nonetheless!!

Rocky is incredibly smart and he's a very quick learner. He is such a loving dog, especially once he fully trusts you. He is super duper playful, and when you're too busy to keep him entertained, he entertains himself by throwing his toys around. It's really adorable! Rocky is also very polite. He actually waits for you to give him a pat on the head or an "Okay" before he eats. He prefers lounging on rugs as opposed to jumping on your couch, and, oftentimes, he can be found napping right in his open crate. He responds to his name and he is thrilled to come when you call him, especially if it means going out for a stroll or a ride in the car or truck! Oh!!! And he is an EXCELLENT security guard!

Per his foster mom, the IDEAL home for Rocky would be with a human(s) who is dedicated to making Rocky, and his needs, a priority.. The IDEAL home will have a lot of space for him to play inside, with NO CATS, and a fenced-in yard, preferably 5ft or higher, as he has proven to be quite the acrobat/jumper. However, Rocky LOVES to go for walks, so the IDEAL home would be with people who can take him for walks often. Due to his injury, Rocky can currently walk about 3/4 of a mile before he starts limping. Rocky would be okay with a non-dominant dog, but he would be absolutely content as the only pet, which is probably the best scenario for him.

Rocky still needs some discipline, so it is important that he have an experienced adopter familiar with dog training and all that it entails.

He will absolutely thrive with lots of time and attention dedicated to him.
This boy deserves all the love life has to offer because he is truly a special guy who has been given a wonderful opportunity at the good life, and we think he knows it cause he's literally always smiling!!

Rocky is approximately 1-2 yrs old and weighs about 45 lbs. He is neutered, up to date with vaccines and is a very healthy baby boy!!

If interested in adopting this special guy, email us at:
luckylivesrescue@gmail.com
