Rocky's Story

Rocky came to us when his owner felt he deserved a home that could keep up with this active and talkative boy better than they could.<br/>Rocky’s looking for a fur-ever home familiar with beagles, though it’s not a requirement; familiarity will just make Rocky’s quirks seem less... uhm... quirky. After becoming familiar with this boy, staff has described him as an energetic angel. He's especially skilled at the game of keep away.<br/><br/>Rocky does have some food guarding issues, so he might do best as an only pet and/or in a home with dog savvy or no children.<br/>As far as cats go, he tolerates them. Barely. Butler County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is quite thorough. We require potential adopters to fill out an application. This application includes listing if they rent or own their home, we verify that they either own or have permission to adopt from landlord they rent from. We require all current animals in the house to be up to date on all required vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adopting from us. They must provide a veterinary reference if they have owned an animal in the past 5 yrs so we can verify they were not negligent pet parents. We also require two references (must not live in same household, and only 1 can be a family member). We conduct dog intro's here at the facility to ensure our animals are going home to a welcome environment. Sometimes multiple visits are needed. We also ask them if they have any topics they are concerned about or need more information about.
