Rocky's Story

For adoption! Rocky!

birthdate: April 2025.

He is approx 55lbs.

No cats, but another dog in the home would be great for him to burn off some steam and keep him company. He loves to run in the backyard with the fosters dog and rough house. He does have a rougher style of play.

He loves belly rubs, car rides , looking for wildlife in the backyard.
He knows sit and paw, but doesn’t quite get down but working on it.
Loves ultimately being with his people and doggie sibling.

He would need a fenced yard and would love an active home. He does pull on leash very strong so foster uses a gentle lead one on walks. He does get excited to see other dogs on walks and even more excited for squirrels or birds.

He has been around kids 13 years old and older. We think he would do OK with kids little younger, but sometimes he doesn’t know his size and jumps, or can mouth on your arm.

He is almost fully potty trained 95% but needs consistency. He absolutely hates a crate but is not destructive when left alone.

He has a very funny/unique bark and whine for attention.

He likes other dogs, but may annoy some with trying to mount and may take some patience at first with trying to redirect.

At night, he sleeps on a doggy bed in a bedroom.

He’s pretty food motivated. He is fairly quiet unless he wants your attention or you’re coming home. He is curious, smart, and energetic.

Does Rocky sound like your guy?
He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.

Rocky is in Markham, ON

Underdog Railroad Canada's Adoption Policy
Our adoption fees vary depending on the expenses associated with that particular animal. We operate on a cost-recovery basis. Please contact us to confirm adoption fee if it is not posted. No animals are offered for free. All animals are adopted spayed/neutered if over 6 months of age. Those under 6 months of age are adopted under a spay and neuter contract and it is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure this is completed. Adoption contracts must be signed upon adoption and state that the animal is returned to UDR if circumstances ever change and the adopter can no longer care for the pet. Our process includes a completed application, a meet and greet with the animal and a home check upon adoption. Submitting an application for review does not guarantee an adoption will take place.
