My name is ROCKY and foster mom says I am a perfect boy! I will let her tell you more about me...

Adorable ROCKY is a 1 year old, 14 pound beautiful Shih Tzu boy. He is a loving little guy who lives for attention and affection....and is friendly with everyone he meets. He loves his toys...and will amuse himself with a squeaky toy or a chew bone.

When he went to our vet for his first visit which is exam and blood draw, it was determined he had a heart murmur. The recommendation was made for him to see a veterinary cardiologist. We were very lucky to get an appointment quite quickly due to a cancellation they had...and the echocardiogram showed that he has a congenital heart abnormality which is called a VSD. It is a condition that requires no medication and is not expected to shorten his life expectancy. So that is the best news we could have possibly gotten from that specialist visit.

Since ROCKY is such a young dog and still has puppy energy...a securely fenced yard, for his safety and enjoyment is a plus! ROCKY is one of the few fosters we have in rescue right now that does not mind the snow. He is so cute when he runs through the snow and comes in with snow all over his face. He is doing quite well with his housetraining since his foster mom is home with him during the day and keeps him on a schedule. So a new owner who would be home, or works from home, and could keep him on a schedule, is desired.

Since coming into rescue, ROCKY has had his cardiologist visit, blood panel checked, neuter, dental cleaning, microchip, fecal check, DAPP/L and booster, bordetella, and rabies vaccinations. He is on heartworm/flea preventative.

If you meet the above requirements and think your home is the one for little ROCKY, the first step is to contact us by email (NOT using the Petfinder link as we have difficulty receiving those inquiries) so send the email to:

aboutrescuedogs@aol.com

and tell us about your family situation and explain why you think your home would be a good match for ROCKY. Please include your name, address, and phone number in the email. We will also require the name and phone number of your vet clinic as a reference so phone ahead and advise them we will be calling.

If ROCKY appears online as adoptable, he is still available.

ROCKY will be shown at a meet and greet after approved application completion. His adoption fee is $600 and includes (all new) collar, leash, harness, toys, crate, and food.

Thank you for wanting to Rescue One!
