Rocky's Story

Rocky is 4-5 years old, a true gentleman and deserves better than the life he started with. Unfortunately, a “rescuer” with good intentions turned into a hoarding situation that led to animal control becoming involved. Despite their efforts to contain these dogs, a family member decided to dump several of them in the middle of a wooded valley. While all of the dogs were recovered and found loving homes, Rocky was returned at no fault of his own, because the child in the home was too much for him.

Rocky loves all animals, but has found comfort in another dog whose story is much the same. His best gal pal, Amelia (who is almost 2), was also dumped and had been abandoned as a puppy, who had been missing for months and whose paws were bloodied and whose spirit was equally broken.

Luckily, they found themselves and each other at Help From My Friends! Their friendship gives them the confidence they need to reach out for human companionship and a family.

Both are terrified of small children and infants, but warm up to older children, teens, and adults very quickly. They need a calm environment, a fenced yard, patience, and a lot of love. In a perfect world, we would love to send them together, as they flourish in each other’s presence.

If you could give one or both of these special babies a home, please fill out a pre-adoption form at helpfrommyfriends.org!
