Rocket

Rocket originally came to us through our Safety Net Boarding Program after his owner experienced a housing crisis and could no longer care for them while rebuilding her life. We provided temporary care and extended Rocket's stay as long as possible through this program, but after we stopped receiving communication from their owner, we were required to transfer Rocket to Carlsbad Shelter to complete the required stray hold. When no one came to claim him, he returned to our care as a Frosted Face (albeit a very young one!)

At about three years old, Rocket has plenty of energy as you'd expect, but he is also a very sweet, smart boy who is very responsive to training and positive reinforcement. As you can see in his video. He's eager to show off what he can do.

Rocket is playful, loves to patrol the yard, and is always ready for some action. But when it's time to settle down, he's happy to head back to his kennel for some well-deserved rest. While he isn't able to live with cats, he does well with other dogs.

Rocket is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, and we're excited to learn what he is like in a home. His foster dad shared this update:

"It's a couple of days into our fling, and Rocket is a great guest. He always willing to go on an adventure and occasionally pulls when walking, but he responds quickly to corrections. Rocket hasn't reacted to people or dogs on our walks. He's very interested in squirrels and rabbits though and definitely has a hunters instinct!

Rocket sleeps decently through the night but might come to the side of the bed to nuzzle just to make sure you're still there! More to come in the coming days!"

Stay tuned for more updates from Rocket's fling!

To meet Rocket, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org.
