THIS HANDSOME BOY IS ROCKET Some dogs are complicated. Some dogs are high maintenance. And then there's Rocket—a handsome, easygoing guy who seems to have decided that life is better when you just go with the flow. <br/><br/>At around 3 years old and 60 pounds, Rocket appears to be primarily Australian Cattle Dog, although he's a little bigger than your typical Heeler. Since he comes from the Navajo Nation, where mixed-breed dogs are the norm, we're guessing there are a few mystery breeds hiding in his family tree. And we think the mix turned out pretty darn well. <br/><br/>Rocket has all the qualities people love about Cattle Dogs—he's smart, loyal, devoted and happiest when he's included in whatever his people are doing. But he also has a wonderfully relaxed personality that makes him a really enjoyable companion.<br/><br/>He currently lives with a large male hound and a female Cattle Dog, and he loves having canine friends to play with. He's happy to wrestle and romp when the mood strikes, but he could also be perfectly content as your one-and-only dog. Apparently Rocket is not particularly demanding about his social calendar. <br/><br/>And here's what we really love about this handsome dude: House trained with frequent breaks and a dog door Doing really well on leash and enjoys daily walks with his foster siblings Sleeps on a dog bed at night Very devoted to his people Happy to play or simply hang out<br/><br/>His foster family has found that Rocket does just fine without a crate for short periods, with the usual common-sense rule of keeping tempting things—like shoes and snacks—out of reach. Because let's be honest, even the best-behaved dog can occasionally be convinced that an unattended shoe is a fascinating chew toy. <br/><br/>Rocket is equally happy accompanying you on a hike, going for a neighborhood stroll, playing at the dog park, or spending an evening lounging on the couch. <br/><br/>He's basically saying: “Adventure? Sure!” “Walk? Absolutely!” “Play with the dogs? Let's go!” “Couch time? Finally, someone gets me.” <br/><br/>And if you've ever met a rescue dog in person and thought, “Wow, pictures really don't do this dog justice,” Rocket is one of those guys.
