Rocco's Story

Hi! My name is Rocco and I’m a 1-year-old, 67 lb Great Pyrenees mix with the softest heart and the sweetest soul. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion, I’m your boy. My absolute favorite things in the world are going on peaceful walks and cuddling up close with my people. I adore humans, and even though I haven’t been around kids in my foster home, I just know I’d be wonderful with them—I’m gentle, patient, and incredibly loving. I also do great with other dogs! I also do well with cats! I’m potty trained, crate trained, and walk beautifully on leash. I even know fun commands like sit and shake—yep, I’m a good boy and a smart one! I do have a little issue with my elbow- but the rescues has been working with multiple vets which have advised them to let me grow more before any intervention and RRR is committed to ensuring I get the care I need, even if it is after adoption. We coordinate everything with our ground transport teams to ensure they arrive to the adopter safely and we keep the adopter in the loop every step of the way. Transport costs are included in the adoption fees. We also have our fosters video chat with potential adopters prior to adoption so that the adopter gets to see the animals and ensure it’s a fit. We allow adoption fees to be paid via goods and services if desired to give our adopters extra security and protection.

Ruff Road Revival's Adoption Policy

The first step to the adoption process is filling out our adoption application online. We then do a vet check and check character reference, followed up by reaching out to the potential adopter to answer any questions they may have. If they are still interested at that point, we have the foster reach out to them so that they can get a better feel for if it is the right fit both for the adopter and for the animal. This also gives the potential adopter a chance to either set up a meet and greet with the animal if they are local or video chat with the animal to see their personality if they are out of state. If they are local, the next step would be a meet and greet and if that goes well, they would sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee and take the animal home. If they are out of state and decide to move forward with adoption, they will then sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. We will schedule the transport and send all information to the potential adopter. The animal will receive a health certificate prior to transport and the adopter will be added to a group chat during the transport process.
