Rocco's Story

Following a change in the previous family’s circumstances, they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him in hopes of finding a home better suited to his needs. This difficult choice was made out of love, with the hope that he can thrive in an environment that provides everything he deserve.

Ideal family:

His ideal home would be with a calm but active couple, ideally with a fenced yard where he can play and explore. He would thrive with someone who understands dog body language and can help guide him when he's feeling overstimulated or anxious. Smart, food-motivated, and eager to please, he loves learning and would enjoy continued training or enrichment. Above all, he's looking for a patient, loving family who will continue building his confidence and cherish him for the loyal companion he is

Personality:

Affectionate

Intelligent

Social

Playful

Loyal

Quick learner

Courageous

Fearful

Insecure

Foodie

Car ride enthusiast

Good Companion

Anxious

Energetic

Active

Hyperactive

Funny

Love to give kisses and cuddle

Physical characteristics:

Male

11 months old (DOB Sept 2025)

Pinscher mix

15 lbs

Short coat

Medium shedding

Social levels:

Good with people (Needs warming up)

Good with dogs (Can be too much sometimes, needs to learn proper cues)

Not good with cats

Good with adolescents (12+) (Can get overstimulated and anxious around younger)

Activity levels:
Medium-High (60-120 minutes per day)

Loves to:

Play fetch

Walk

Play with toys

Chew on bones

Play with other dogs

Training levels:

Basic obedience

Potty trained

Leash trained

Crate trained

Recall

“Bed” command

What they need to work on:

Reactivity on leash to dogs and people

Likes to jump up

Barking at people entering the home

Lacks confidence

Medical Characteristics:

Vaccinated ( DHPP, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Rabies)

Parasite prevention

Microchipped

Sterilised

Adoption Fee: $695

Medical procedures: Vaccinations, Sterilised, Microchip, Prevention Medication (tick and flea)

Basic supplies

Medical booklet

Informational guide

Support group with Passion for Paws team during adoption trial
