Robin's Story

Hi everyone! My name is Robin, and I am a sweet, happy, and inquisitive girl who is ready to find my perfect forever family. My foster family describes me as exceptionally gentle, calm, and smart. While I absolutely adore human company and thrive on companionship, I also have a wonderful independent streak that allows me to happily entertain myself. When it comes to the small humans, I absolutely love kids! I play so calmly and gently with them, and my absolute favorite thing to do is soak up all the cuddles and affection they want to give me.
I live by a very structured, predictable daily schedule that helps me feel safe and happy. My routine kicks off bright and early with a quick potty break, and I get to enjoy eating three delicious meals throughout the day alongside plenty of dedicated play and rest times. I am a very clever girl who is already fully pee pad trained when indoors, and I am excited to start working on my outdoor potty training very soon!
I am completely cat and dog approved! I thoroughly enjoy the company of other dogs, approaching them with a calm but eager attitude. If another pup isn't paying attention to me, I might give a sweet little whine just to get noticed! I would do fantastic with a furry brother or sister to learn from, but I would also do wonderfully as your one-and-only spoiled pet. I also do great with cats, approaching them with calm curiosity and a friendly desire to meet and play.
My foster family says I am making wonderful progress in puppy school. I am currently working on my crate training and have already done great when left entirely alone for up to three hours at a time. While I might cry just a tiny bit initially to let you know I miss you, I settle down nicely once I get comfortable. At night, I am working hard on being completely crated; right now, my crate opens up into a securely gated pen area, and I am getting better and braver every single night, though I do still wake up once through the night for a quick bathroom break. I am also working on my general puppy manners, learning that I am completely okay when left alone and figuring out the difference between my actual dog toys and regular household items.
I will thrive best in a calm, predictable home that can provide me with continued puppy training, consistent routines, and of course, plenty of playtime and snuggle sessions. In return, I promise to be the most loving, gentle, and intelligent companion you could ever ask for.

It Takes A Village Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
Hopeful adopters must fill out an adoption application. All applications are screened and potential matches are contacted. Follow up questions are emailed. A phone call is set up to clarify any questions about the adoption process. At that point the fosters are provided the contact information for the potential adopters. They set up a meet and greet at the fosters home. During the meet the foster will tell the potential adopter the good, the bad. and the ugly about the dog... we want total transparency in order to have an open and successful adoption. After the meet we ask the fosters and the adopters their thoughts. If the adopter would like to proceed, their references are checked and a virtual home visit is conducted. If the adoptable dog has any sort of behavioural or medical issues a plan to address the issue would be required before adoption could proceed. If all is good then the adoption contract is sent out to be signed and returned along with the adoption fee. The foster is given the green light to arrange pick up.
