Roadie's Story

Meet Roadie Whippet Mix • ~40 lbs • High-energy lovebug looking for his forever home.Roadie’s name says it all—this sweet boy was rescued at just 9 weeks old on the side of the road, and from that moment on, he’s been nothing but heart. Though I’ve always considered myself a “cat person,” Roadie quickly proved impossible not to fall in love with.Roadie is a whippet mix, about 40 pounds, with a fantastic temperament and the perfect medium size. He’s energetic, athletic, and incredibly sweet—a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he’s deeply affectionate and loyal. He’s naturally protective of his home, yet consistently gentle and kind with everyone he meets. This boy loves other dogs, does wonderfully with kids and cats, and absolutely thrives outdoors, loves to play fetch. He would be a dream companion for a runner, hiker or active person. Roadie truly needs space to stretch his legs and RUN. A home with land to roam or an owner committed to long daily walks and adventures would be ideal.Roadie is still young and needs some puppy training, but for someone with the time and patience, he will be an incredibly rewarding companion. He’s smart and eager, and already does well using pee-pee pads during long stretches at home. He can get a bit anxious during car rides, and as a puppy, he’s always on the move—but that’s part of his joyful, spirited nature.Everyone who meets Roadie comments on his great size, sweet soul, and wonderful demeanor. He’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply and gives his whole heart once he feels safe.He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, started on monthly flea/heartworm prevention and ready to be adopted! His adoption fee is $300 and you can apply to adopt at mpravl.org

All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information.

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
