Meet River 🤎<br/><br/>River is a young chocolate lab mix (estimated 1–2 years old) weighing about 56 pounds, and he’s the perfect mix of playful energy and easygoing charm. He loves his toys, enjoys a good game of fetch, and will happily show off his zoomies—but he’s just as content relaxing with his people once he’s had his fun.<br/><br/>River gets along great with other dogs and absolutely loves to play. He may get a little excited and bark when he sees other dogs because he wants to say hi, but with a little redirection, he settles quickly. He’d do wonderfully in a home with another playful dog or an adopter who can keep him active and engaged.<br/><br/>He’s also really good on a leash, making walks easy and enjoyable. River is comfortable around people and does well in busier environments, so he can fit into a variety of home settings.<br/><br/>River is heartworm positive, which sounds scary but truly isn’t. It’s not contagious to other dogs, and treatment is very manageable. He will need a few months of treatment and some activity restriction during that time—and the rescue will cover the cost of his treatment.<br/><br/>River is a sweet, happy boy who’s ready to find his forever home.
