Your Adventure Buddy with a Heart of Gold! <br/><br/>River is a 1 1/2-year-old, fun-loving boy who is ready to find the family he's been waiting for. He's affectionate, intelligent, and full of personality. He loves to play with other dogs, enjoys being with his people, and settles in nicely after his exercise and playtime.<br/><br/>River is potty trained; crate trained and walks well on a leash. He's eager to learn and thrives with consistency, structure, and positive reinforcement. He's a smart young dog who truly enjoys having a job to do.<br/><br/>River has already had an evaluation with a professional trainer, who was impressed with his intelligence and willingness to learn. He was attentive, engaged, and responded very well to the training. Because River is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, he isn't able to participate in group training just yet, but once he's medically cleared, Woof Animal Rescue will cover the cost of his professional training classes to help him continue building confidence and manners.<br/><br/>River is currently living in a boarding foster home with two high school-aged children and other dogs, where he has done very well. He enjoys having canine companions and would love a home with another playful dog. Because River is still a young, energetic dog who can become mouthy during play, we recommend a home with older, dog-savvy children rather than young children.<br/><br/>Like many adolescent dogs, River can become overly excited and, at times, may jump or become mouthy when he's overstimulated. This is something were actively working on, and he has already shown how capable he is of learning better ways to channel his excitement. He is looking for a family that will continue providing the consistency and guidance every young dog needs.<br/><br/>River is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, and Woof Animal Rescue will cover the cost of completing his treatment.<br/><br/><br/>River would love:<br/><br/>A playful dog companion<br/><br/>A securely fenced yard where he can run and play<br/><br/>An active family committed to continuing his training and helping him succeed<br/><br/>A home without cats<br/><br/>River has so much love to give and all the potential in the world. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason.<br/><br/>Please only apply if you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into your home within five days of approval.<br/><br/><br/>Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age.
