Rita's Story

Meet Rita—cute, cuddly, and already part of a much bigger conversation. 2026 has arrived with the same old problem rescues face every year: too many puppies and not enough homes. Unplanned litters continue to fill shelters, even though the solution is simple, safe, and responsible—spay and neuter your pets. Rita is here because someone didn’t… but thanks to Animatch, her story gets a happier ending.

Rita is one of those “oops” puppies—adorable, innocent, and completely unaware that she was born into an overpopulated world. Don’t worry though, Rita will not be contributing to the problem. Her future includes being spayed, properly cared for, and cherished as a family member—not passed around, not forgotten in a backyard, and definitely not adding more puppies to an already overflowing system.

Right now, Rita is all puppy: curious, playful, and just a little bit goofy. She’s at the perfect age to learn how to be a great canine citizen, which means training should start as soon as she goes home. Puppy classes, daily exercise (yes, even when it’s cold), and consistency will help her grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. She enjoys other dogs and would benefit from a confident canine role model to show her the ropes.

Rita can’t change the world on her own—but you can change hers. If you’re ready to commit to puppyhood, believe in responsible pet ownership, and don’t mind a little laughter along the way, Rita just might be your girl.

Fill out an application and take a stand for spaying, neutering, and second chances.

BREED
Shepherd x Mastiff
GENDER
Female
AGE
DOB Sep. 14, 2026
SIZE
Very Large
CHILDREN
8+
DOG FRIENDLY
Yes
CAT FRIENDLY
TBD
ENERGY LEVEL
Medium High
GROOMING LEVEL
Low

TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION OF THIS DOG, PLEASE VISIT OUR WEB SITE: www.animatch.ca AND FILL THE APPLICATION ON LINE.
*** calls and e-mails will not be answered ***
