Rita is an adorable, 3 year old, teeny tiny 6 lb Chihuahua with a sweet, loving personality.<br/><br/>Rita came to us from a shelter in New Mexico after her owner sadly passed away. She was surrendered alongside other dogs she had been living with, but unfortunately they were separated at the shelter. Because of this, we believe Rita would thrive in a home with another friendly dog to give her that sense of comfort, companionship, and familiarity she’s used to.<br/><br/>This little girl is very sweet! She’s friendly and kind, with a soft, soulful presence that just makes you want to scoop her up and protect her forever. She can be a tiny bit shy when first meeting new people or adjusting to a new environment, but honestly… who wouldn’t be after everything she’s been through? Give her a little time and patience, and you’ll see her blossom into a devoted, loving companion.<br/><br/>When Rita first arrived at the shelter, it was clear she had recently had puppies. Those days are officially behind her now - she’s been spayed and is ready to focus on being someone’s baby for the rest of her life, just as she deserves.<br/><br/>Rita is looking for a calm, loving home where she can feel safe, cherished, and never have to experience loss or uncertainty again. If you have a sweet resident dog and a warm lap to share, Rita just might be your perfect match.<br/><br/>Rita is up to date on her vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is spayed (no more puppies for this girl!).<br/><br/>Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.<br/><br/>Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.<br/><br/>Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup.
