Riptide's Story

Riptide AKA Rip is a young, handsome Doberman looking for a forever home. Rip is very dominant with other large male dogs, so he will need to be the only male in the household. He does get along well with female dogs. Riptide has met small dogs and got along fine with them, we are unsure of how he would get along with cats. He is a little too rambunctious for young children. Riptide will require an adopter who is willing to dedicate time to professional training. He is also seeking an adopter who will spend time and have patience with housebreaking him. He is still very much a puppy and needs direction. Riptide is very intelligent and willing to learn. Once he develops a bond he is a velcro dog and will want to spend all his time with his people. Riptide would love to try some kind of dog sport, such as agility or dock diving. He needs a home that will walk him and / or run him multiple times a day. He is not a lazy dog that would be happy lounging around at home all day, he is very active and will need some sort of physical outlet to burn off energy. Riptide is an extremely sweet boy who deserves the best possible home. Could that be yours?

To inquire about adopting our magnificent boy please call Windham Animal Control at (860)465-3087 or email us at aco@windhamct.gov (please note we have recently changed our email)
