Rip's Story

Meet Rip - The World's Smartest Goofball!

If you're looking for a dog who keeps life interesting, Rip might just be your perfect match.

Rip is a 3-year-old black Lab mix with a big heart, a brilliant mind, and a healthy sense of adventure. This handsome boy is house trained, great with other dogs, loves kids when properly supervised, and has never met a stranger. In Rip's world, everyone is a friend waiting to happen!

Rip is the total package of brains and personality. He loves playing, learning, exploring, and having a job to do. After a day of fun and activity, he's more than happy to curl up on the couch for cuddles with his favorite people.

Did we mention he's smart? Very smart.

Rip has figured out how to open standard kennels, unlatch fence gates, and solve problems that most dogs wouldn't even think about. Because of this, he'll need an adopter who can appreciate his intelligence and stay one step ahead of him. Rip requires an escape-proof crate such as an Impact, Ruffland, Gunner, or Dakota kennel, along with a secure yard featuring a minimum 5-foot fence and locked or clipped gate latches.

Rip does wonderfully with other dogs and would enjoy having canine friends to play with. He can be a little too interested in cats, especially if they run, so a cat-free home would be ideal. With consistent training and management, his cat-chasing tendencies may improve over time.

Rip is looking for an active family that will embrace both his goofy side and his genius side. He'll thrive with people who enjoy training, enriching activities, outdoor adventures, and plenty of companionship.

If you're ready for a loyal best friend who will keep you laughing, keep you on your toes, and love you with his whole heart, Rip is waiting to meet you.

Smart. Silly. Social. Rip is ready for his forever home.

Apply to adopt Rip here: https://www.cognitoforms.com/Okandogs1/DogAdoptionApplication

Okandogs's Adoption Policy
Our screening process is designed to ensure a good home for every dog. References are checked. If we have an application ahead of time and are able to pre-check the references, the dog may be able to go home at the end of the adoption day’s “meet and greets” with the potential adopter if the full process has been completed. It is REQUIRED that ALL people and dogs with whom the adoptable dog will reside do a meet and greet. The meet and greet is for the dog’s benefit as well as that of the family. We need to see that the dog is comfortable with and appropriate for all individuals in the family for the best possible outcome. Factors such as hours alone, methods of confinement, experience and needs of the particular dog - exercise, medical, and behavioral – are all considered for placement. We will go over all information in the dog’s adoption packet when the contract is signed.
