Rio is a 12-year-old, 13-pound female mix who recently arrived in NYC from Alabama. She's a calm, affectionate sweetheart who gets along beautifully with people and other dogs, and still has plenty of puppy energy for her age.<br/><br/>Rio settled into her foster home right away and loves walks, cuddling, treats, and greeting dogs in the park. She knows how to sit, is housetrained, walks well on a leash, and happily goes into her crate or bed on cue. She's working on her leash skills and learning "drop it," and her forever family can help her keep building on this progress.<br/><br/>Rio enjoys being close to her people but isn't a Velcro dog — she's just as happy relaxing nearby as she is cuddling. She's looking for a low-key to moderately active home with another friendly, similarly sized dog to play with, ideally with someone who works from home.<br/><br/>Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, spayed/neutered and microchipped.
