Riley's Story

Hi, I'm Riley. I'm a tall, long-legged beauty with a very elegant presence. I'm 3+ years old and weigh somewhere around 70 lbs - very sleek lbs that is. I"m not sure who my parents were but they sure gave me the looks. On my recent walks around town, the compliments were many.

I came into the rescue with my friend, Koda, when our beloved person passed away unexpectedly. It's been a little rough for us but we're in a safe place now and I know everything will be ok. Us beauty queens need to roll with the punches and I've been told that there's great things ahead for me.

I'm pretty friendly but haven't really met a lot of strangers and sometimes it's kind of scary for me when we are out walking and they head straight for me. I'm getting much better at meeetings and actually like meeting people and I have a few extra special friends. I may bark but I mean no harm. Once we have met, I'm all about the attention - oh, and I do like treats!!

I don't have a lot of experience meeting other dogs. Even though I lived with my friend, Koda, and now with my new friend, Wiley, meeting new dogs has been challenging for me. It's pretty scary when they rush up to me and I get a little defensive and sometimes I might be a little snappy. I walk really well on the leash when there are no dogs around. I still get nervous when I see other dogs though and may bark. I'm ok in the car, too. It's good to be going places again. I'm a healthy, happy girl and I like being out and about but what I really like is being with my person or people. I'm a typical GSD and really love my foster mom and let her know when she returns from an outing-I'm all wiggles and leve. I know my basics as well as my manners. I'll gladly go where you go.

If you have room in your heart and home for me, I promise I will do everything I can to keep my composure. Just remember, it's all new to me and I've been in the same home for most of my life so it might take me a little time to learn you and yours. Just a little grace is all I ask. If you are the more adventurous type, please keep my dog sister Koda in mind. We've lived together a long time and I know she longs for adventure.

I'm currently in Truckee (I know, it's kind of a ways away but I'm worth it) learning a whole lot of new stuff, going to new places and meeting new people. I'm really hoping one of them will be my person soon.

You like this dog...now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42179/generic. Our adoption team will quickly contact you by phone or email (watch your spam please) to see if it's a match!. If you are already approved to adopt, please contact your Adoption Counselor and they will help you set up a meeting.

You can also sponsor Riley by clicking here. Your name will appear on this page as Riley's sponsor and your donation will help pay for food, treats, toys, supplements and medical expenses. Riley thanks you!

BAGSR is always in need of fosters. There is an overwhelming number of dogs who need our help and the more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. BAGSR covers expenses, including food. Fosters provide the love and a soft place to crash.
https://petstablished.com/foster_form/42405/generic
