Riggs (fka Rambo)- Come Meet!!

Meet Riggs (fka Rambo)! This handsome 47 lb, approximately 1-2 year old shepard mix is waiting for his forever home! He has been lovingly taken care of in his current placement through ortho (knees) and recovery. Post rehab, Riggs has decided he cannot live with the cat, so it is time for him to find a cat free home! <br/><br/>His foster folks say, "Riggs is such a wonderful dog!" They describe him as extremely affectionate and snuggly. This clever boy is house and crate trained, and, "Knows sit, takes treats gently (very food motivated!) fast learner and smart." He does need some more leash training as he has not had much experience using one. He also needs experience with hard wood surfaces as his traction is better on carpet and rugs<br/><br/>Riggs has "perfect" car manners and is reported to, " Love durable chew toys, is not destructive at all, only chews appropriate toys." He is also "mostly quiet," - not a barker. <br/><br/>Riggs had previously been reported to be good with other dogs, although play may seem "rough" to some dogs<br/><br/>If you feel that Riggs would make a good addition to your family and have time to continue to train and exercise him, please go to our website, read about our adoption policies, and fill out an application. You must first be approved by going through our application and screening process.<br/><br/>All dogs are up to date on their shots, dewormed and spayed or neutered. <br/>Vet fees, transport fee and New England quarantine fees ARE INCLUDED in each dog's adoption fee. <br/>Forever Home Rescue makes all of the transportation arrangements.<br/><br/>Forever Home Rescue suggests obedience training for all puppies and dogs.<br/>Any dogs older than pups--even if they are not marked housetrained in their posting---usually housetrain within a day or two, because most are used to living outside in the South and will prefer to do their business outdoors. <br/>Our dogs and pups are best suited for families with children 5 yrs old and up.<br/><br/>Also, please note our open houses which occur most every week at foreverhomerescue.org. You can see when we are open and also which dogs will be at each open house. Dogs marked 'out of town' will not usually be at open houses until they are local.
