Rigby's Story

OTHER DOGS - Friendly dogs. He has a past history of being bullied as puppy
CATS - Yes. has lived with cats successfully
KIDS - Older children. This is a nervous dog, who is very sound sensitive and startles easy
CAR - Yes Nervous of car, not a lot of experience in car, but getting used to it.
ANXIETY - Rigby has not shown extreme anxiety at the shelter when left alone. He will bark, but he settles in his kennel when it's quiet. At home, he slept on sofa.
LEASH - Not used to walking on lead, but is quickly starting to enjoy. Not terrible on lead, but can be much better.

Rigby is a one year old mixed breed who is looking for a new home as, as he got older the previous dog in the home decided he was not welcome and was bullying him causing stress and worry in a home with children.

Rigby is said to be a boxer/shepherd. He was picked up as a puppy from the North of the province. We see possibly collie or Bernese Mountain dog, maybe husky, who knows in him. He's just a very pretty mutt.

Rigby is a nervous dog, but he's very gentle. He has taken to the shelter well, though he much rather be in a home. Rigby has been good with gentle, friendly dogs on proper introduction. He is fearful when he sees another dog, because o his past negative interactions. Once he knows a dog is safe, he wants to play.

Rigby has lived with cats and did well. Because he is very nervous and startles very easily, we want to see him placed with an adult or older child home for his best match.

Rigby is up to date on vaccines. He just needs to be neutered and microchipped. That is included in his adoption fee.
