Rico @ Petsmart Newington 10/21

Rico (approximately 41 pounds) was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Mississippi. He is extremely good-looking and what's more, he has a gorgeous personality to match! Rico is friendly, social, and very outgoing. He loves to get attention and will soak up all the petting he can get, even rolling over onto his back to present his magnificent belly for some belly rubs. He is believed to be a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, and this breed is a working breed known for herding behaviors. This means that Rico may attempt to herd the humans and other animals he comes in contact with by nipping at them - this is not naughtiness, it's what Catahoulas are bred to do! But if you have living beings in your life that will not enjoy being nipped at, this is not the breed for you. If you love an intelligent, loyal, and energetic dog who needs activities as well as attention in order to be his best self, Rico is ready to meet you! He was introduced to other dogs at his previous shelter and seems to enjoy having canine friends. But Rico's true love is PEOPLE, and he is a total ham when it comes to getting human attention. This fine gentleman was even well-behaved for his veterinary exam, probably because he was the sole focus of human attention during his vet visit. Come meet this beautiful boy today & see if he's the right fit for you!

If you'd like to meet Rico and all his friends at the New Hampshire SPCA, please visit our Adoption Center during our open hours: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed).
