Rico's Story
PLEASE NOTE: Applications for our dogs are at rescuebulldogs.org, not here on Petfinder.

Rico sure is a happy guy, it doesn’t take long to fall in love with his sweet face, big eyes, cuddles, and outstanding personality. Rico loves being outside, going for walks (he is an amazing leash walker), car rides, and napping (while listening to some tunes on his Bluetooth speaker). He gets along with other dogs, responding to other dog cues well.
Rico has colitis/IBD and therefore has spent most of his first year and a half of life confined. He now is on the mend and loves life, he really has flourished and his sweet personality continues to bloom. Rico loves to cuddle and will purr when he is content with belly and body rubs. Rico is a great napper and would be a great work from home secretary, he has taken this job very seriously in his foster home (the snores are essential for workplace productivity).
Rico will need to be on a restricted special diet for the rest of his life along with supplements that support a healthy GI such as pumpkin and probiotics. Rico is not a picky guy though and will happily eat whatever food or medicine he needs.

Ricos condition is currently under control with his diet and supplements, but this is a life-long issue and adopter needs to be aware that there could be potentially high vet costs when / if he has a flare-up.

An ideal family for Rico would be one in which someone is home most of the time, has a fenced in yard, other dogs to play with, and no cats. Someone with experience with the breed and colitis/IBD would be ideal. Rico has so much love to give, his forever family will be so lucky to welcome him into their family. We can’t wait for Rico’s happily ever after, this sweet boy sure does deserve it.

Apply at rescuebulldogs.org
