Ricky

Ricky is a 1-year-old, 33-pound Black and Tan Coonhound mix who has recently discovered that humans can be excellent, and he has responded by becoming rather invested in their continued presence.

He came to us frightened and uncertain, but underneath that caution is a ridiculously sweet, playful little hound who is emerging more every day. Once Ricky decides you're safe, he follows along with the solemn dedication of a tiny Victorian understudy who suspects losing sight of you could have narrative consequences.

Ricky is dog and cat friendly, and he would especially love a home with another friendly dog or two. Canine company gives him confidence, companionship, and somebody to consult when the humans inexplicably go into another room. He also does best with someone who is home much of the time. Ricky isn't particularly interested in becoming a rugged individualist. He has reviewed the literature and prefers a group project.

He's crate trained, does very well with pottying on a consistent schedule, and is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.

Ricky is still discovering how safe and wonderful life can be. Give him companionship, patience, and a home where somebody is usually nearby, and you get the extraordinary privilege of watching this funny, tender little guy become more Ricky every single day.

PLEASE READ BELOW:

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs:

https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt

Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application.
*An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application*
All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily.
