Ricky 's Story
Meet Ricky!

At just four months old, Ricky is already such a wonderful dog—gentle, loyal, and full of quiet sweetness. This handsome mixed-breed pup currently weighs around 25–30 pounds and is expected to grow into a beautiful 60–70 pound adult.

Ricky is the definition of a soft soul. He’s wonderful with other dogs, great with kids, and does well meeting new people—though he appreciates a little time to settle in and feel safe. Give him that space to decompress, and you’ll watch him blossom into the most devoted companion. Once Ricky bonds with you, he bonds deeply—he becomes your shadow, your confidant, and your very best friend.

He’s already off to an amazing start with his manners. Ricky is house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and rides calmly in the car (his favorite part? Sticking his head out the window and taking in the world). He truly just wants to be near his people and share life’s simple moments together.

Ricky does have a condition called angular limb deformity, which gives his legs a slightly “wonky” appearance—but don’t let that fool you. He runs, plays, and keeps up with other dogs just fine. In his foster home, he’s surrounded by canine friends and continues to build confidence every day. He’s even good with cats!

What Ricky needs most is a patient, loving home that will give him the time and structure he needs to fully settle in. In return, you’ll get an incredibly loyal, loving dog who will be by your side through everything.

Ricky is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and will come with a health certificate prior to adoption. His adoption fee has been waived for the right family—because what matters most is finding him the home he deserves. If you’re looking for a truly special dog with a heart of gold, Ricky is waiting for you!

https://www.livefreerescue.com/adoption-application
