Richard's Story
Meet Richard! Richard is a 2.5-month-old, 14lbs, male Golden Retriever (birthdate: 10/14/25). Richard is a handsome boy who came to us with a broken heart. He has a heart murmur with a grade of 5 of 6. He had an echocardiogram and was diagnosed with severe subaortic stenosis with aortic valve disease, mitral valve dysplasia with moderate mitral regurgitation, and tricuspid valve dysplasia with trivial tricuspid regurgitation. He is at high risk for further cardiac complications. He is on heart medication daily for the rest of his life. He will also need a repeat echocardiogram in 6 months. Richard is currently being treated for kennel cough and doing well.

The adoption fee is $400. This includes the spay/neuter, microchip, wellness bloodwork, fecal flotation, deworming and all core vaccines through puppyhood (as long as you return to us for vaccines).

If you are interested in adopting Richard, please e-mail adoptions@thelovepetproject.org with "Richard" in the subject.
