Meet Richard - A Brave Boy Looking for a Soft Place to Heal <br/><br/>Richard is a truly beautiful boy whose story hasn't been an easy one. He came into the shelter as a stray in very rough condition, suffering from a broken and dislocated front leg along with a large abscess that had to be drained due to infection.<br/><br/>Right now, Richard is focused on healing. Once the infection has cleared, he will undergo surgery to amputate his injured front leg, which will allow him to live a comfortable, pain-free life. Until then, he is being kept comfortable on pain medication while he waits for his surgery date.<br/><br/>Richard is housebroken and already knows commands like sit and stay, which tells us he once had a home and someone who spent time with him. Because of his injury and infection, we have not been able to safely introduce him to other animals yet, so we are unsure how he does with other dogs or pets.<br/><br/>Richard would do best in a quiet foster or adoptive home where he can be isolated and kept calm while he recovers.
