Rhett's Story
Rhett is a 2-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who recently joined the rescue and is already stealing hearts everywhere he goes. With his gentle personality and affectionate nature, Rhett is what we like to call a certified cuddle bug, if you love snuggles, he’s more than happy to oblige.

Rhett is a sweet, playful, and loyal boy who enjoys the simple things in life: a good game of fetch, sniffing around the backyard, and heading out for walks with his people. Walks are one of his favorite activities, and he gets so excited when he sees other dogs that he sometimes whines hoping he can go say hello. While he does enjoy other dogs, he can be a little timid and nervous at first, especially around confident pups, so slow introductions help him feel more comfortable.

This handsome guy also has a bit of a funny side, mornings aren’t really his thing. Rhett prefers to sleep in and ease into the day, but once he’s up and moving he’s ready for exercise, exploring, and spending time with his favorite humans.

Rhett already knows his name, how to sit, and comes when called, and he’s eager to keep learning. Like many young dogs, he’s still working on a few things such as crate training and building confidence when left alone, so he would do best with a patient family willing to continue his training and help him feel secure.

Rhett seems to do okay with dogs outside the home with proper introductions but has not been okay with other dogs in the home. Because of this we think he would be best as an ONLY dog!

If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a cuddle buddy, and an adventure partner all in one, Rhett might be the perfect match for you.

Rhett is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and kept on monthly preventatives. He is currently located in the Charlotte area and ready to find his forever home.

His adoption fee is $350.

🧬 German Shorthaired Pointer
🎂 ~2 years old
💉 UTD on vaccines
✂️ Neutered
🛡️ On monthly preventatives
🐶 Dog friendly (slow introductions best)
❤️ Very sweet and cuddly
🎾 Loves fetch
👃 Loves sniffing and exploring
🚶♂️ Enjoys walks and outdoor adventures
🌅 Professional morning sleeper
🎓 Still learning crate training and confidence building
