Rex's Story

Rex is an extremely sweet, loyal dog who loves to play with other dogs and snuggle with his people. He is good with all ages, however he is a big boy and does need to work on jumping when he gets excited. Whenever his foster mom comes home, he also shows his excitement with ‘big grins’ and wagging his tail! It’s very funny and endearing to see. Rex is unfortunately a bit of an escape artist and can climb a six foot fence by using the 2x4s, so he needs a home with a reversed fence, some other extra security measure, or a home that is dedicated to ensuring he gets lots of attention, supervision, and exercise on a daily basis. On the bright side, he does get very attached to his people so when he has escaped at his foster home in the past, he left the backyard and ran around to the front door to be let back in immediately. Almost Home Herding Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy

When available for adoption, our adult dogs have been spayed or neutered, tested for heart worm and tick diseases, received a health check and vaccinations and are on heart worm and flea and tick preventative. If a puppy is available that is too young to be spayed or neutered, the adopter will be required to complete a spay or neuter agreement. If you are seriously interested in one of our dogs, please complete the online adoption application. We will be in touch to schedule your home evaluation once we have contacted your vet's office to verify the information provided. Please remember that this is a volunteer group and it may us take a few days to get in touch with you.
