Rex's Story

Meet Rex

Rex is a 10-year-old Boston Terrier with a joyful spirit and a heart full of love. He’s house-trained, well-mannered, and not a chewer. Playful and energetic in bursts, Rex enjoys long walks in mild weather, chasing toys, and spending hours in the yard watching squirrels or soaking up the sun. Indoors, he’s calm and respectful, often curling up in his bed for a nap, though he’s always ready to join in when the fun starts. He’s also a social boy who greets new people with excitement—sometimes even with zoomies.

Rex loves to watch TV with his people and is always ready to “announce” when there’s an animal on the screen—he’ll bark with enthusiasm, which is a real hoot to watch. His playful reactions bring laughter and entertainment to any household.

Rex has demonstrated that he does very well with other Boston Terriers, both male and female. In foster care, he has lived peacefully with another male Boston Terrier and shown a more submissive nature. He would thrive with a respectful canine companion who enjoys play and companionship as much as he does. Affectionate, funny, and loyal, Rex’s quirks only add to his charm.

Rex’s Perfect Home

Adult-only home or older, dog-savvy kids

No cats or small pets (strong prey drive)

Other dogs his size are okay (especially Boston Terriers)

Fenced yard preferred—he loves being outside

Active family for walks, play, and enrichment

Quiet, stable home that respects his boundaries

Experience with senior dogs and willingness to manage normal age-related vision and hearing changes

Rex is not a dog who likes to be picked up, especially when sleeping, as his poor hearing and impaired eyesight make it difficult for him to sense you approaching and may cause him to startle. With patience, care, and love, Rex will reward his forever family with endless joy, laughter, and companionship.

Rex is being fostered in Rockville Center, NY
