Rex-Adopted!!'s Story

Rex is currently in MD with his owners, 9/15/04. Gaithersburg, MD (Montgomery County) which is about 20 miles outside Washington, DC.

And, Rex is pretty good with kids (we have four) and other animals (dogs, cats, and birds).

He is up on all his shots, but he hasn't been neutered. This is a very difficult email to write. My husband has recently been diagnosed with cancer, and now the burden of raising our 4 young children, holding a job, and doing all the household tasks has fallen completely on me.

We have a 2-year-old Irish Setter who is still quite a handful, and I am just at the point that I must start letting go of some things in order to get through the next couple of years that my husband will be in treatment. Sadly, Rex may have to be one of those things that I will have to give up (i've already given up my hobbies, execising at the gym, spending time with friends & extended family, and several trips were cancelled).

The kids understand the sacrifices we all must make, although they too are sad. We live in Maryland and have no idea how to proceed. We just want the best for Rex--a home that he can have all the love and attention that he deserves. Please advise if you can help us.

yes (housebroken) and yes (crate trained).

he pulls on his leash, but loves it when someone grabs it because he knows he's going somewhere.

to get him in his crate, one simply has to say, "crate"...and he happily runs in. very easy.

More info coming soon. An application, vet reference, home visit and a drive to NJ a must to meet our dogs! Adoption fee required.
