Rex's Story

🐾 Meet Rex – Our Sweet Senior Goofball 🐾

Rex is a 10-year-old Lab mix who came to us in October of last year, and he has quietly stolen a lot of hearts since then. He may be a senior, but don’t let that fool you — this boy still gets the zoomies outside and has plenty of happy energy to share!

Rex is a very sweet, affectionate guy who enjoys companionship and a calm, loving environment. He does best with smaller dogs and cats, as he is not a fan of larger dogs, so a home without big dogs would be ideal. We are unsure how he is with children.

One important thing to know about Rex is that he cannot have blankets or fabric toys. He has had two foreign body surgeries in the past due to chewing and ingesting blankets, so his future home will need to be mindful about keeping fabric items out of reach.

Rex would need to continue his veterinary care at Crossroads Animal Hospital, as we have cared for him since he was a puppy and are very familiar with his medical history.

We are asking for a $200 adoption fee, which helps offset the significant medical care Rex has already received, including two surgeries — one for a foreign body and the other one was for a lumpectomy. This fee is a small part of what has gone into keeping Rex healthy and happy, and our main goal is finding him the right forever home.

Rex is truly a gentle, loving soul who deserves a cozy (blanket-free 😉), safe home to spend his golden years — ideally with a family who will enjoy his sweet nature and occasional bursts of playful energy.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and a little sparkle left in his step, Rex might be your guy 🐶💛

📩 Message us to learn more about Rex or to see if he might be the right fit for your home.
