Rex's Story
Rex is a BIG boy (80lbs) with lots of love. He rides extremely well in the car, has good leash manners, and crates like a champ. Rex loves his food and hanging out with his people and canine friends. He's very easy going and on the lazier side. Rex is gentle with children and loves all people and dogs. He would probably chase a cat if given the chance, just for the fun of it. But that littler spurt of energy would 100% lead to a very satisfying nap in the sun. Rex is eager to please and would be a fantastic dog for a family or single person, in a house or apartment, or even in an RV. He would do well as either a single dog or with canine siblings. Rex will alert if strangers approach, but is not a loud dog in general. Rex is truly an adaptable boy who is ready to find is forever home.

Rex came to use as an owner surrender from an army veteran who found herself homeless and living out of her car after an honorable discharge from service. She realized she could no longer care for her dogs and emotional support animals, Rex and Duchess, who had been critical in her management of PTSD. Unfortunately, after holding the dogs for 6 months, their owner has not found the stability to reclaim Rex and Duchess.
