Rex's Story

Hi, I'm Rex, a 6 year old, 20-pound male Mini Poodle, and I'm looking for a very special forever family.

I have a funny little way of asking for attention that my foster family calls my "Poodle Poke." Basically, if I like you, I'll gently poke you to let you know I'd love some love and attention.

I absolutely LOVE my walks! I'm a great leash walker and really enjoy my daily 2-3 mile adventures, especially when I'm walking with my foster dad. There are so many interesting smells out there!

I'm also pretty good at making friends. I get along well with the two smaller girl dogs and the cat in my foster home. I'm gentle with respectful children, too, although I need a little time to warm up and feel comfortable.

I do have something important to tell you: I can get spooked easily, and I'm a flight risk. That means I need a secure home and humans who are extremely careful with doors and gates. Because of this, my forever home needs to have older, dog-savvy children.

Once I decide you're my person, I really, really want to be near you. In fact, I think sleeping in bed beside my person is pretty much a requirement!

I'm still learning to trust men, and sometimes even my foster dad can startle me. I just need someone who understands that trust takes time. I may need patience, space, consistency, and lots of gentle reassurance while I learn that I'm safe.

I'm doing very well with my potty training when I'm kept on a regular schedule, although I sometimes mark. My family should expect that I may have a little regression when I first move into a new home. I'm also still working on my feelings about my crate. I have some opinions about it and occasionally like to bark about them...but I'm improving!

I know I'm asking for a special family. But if you're willing to give me the time and security I need, I promise I have so much love to give.

I'm a silly, sweet little poodle guy who loves walks, my person, my Poodle Pokes, and being right by your side.

I'm neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives.

Could you be the person I've been waiting for? I'm being fostered in Elizabethtown,PA.

Apply at www.zoeshouserescue.com

Reading, PA 19608
Kennel License #9117
