Meet Reuben! <br/><br/>- Dog-friendly and would enjoy a home with another playful dog<br/>- Has lived successfully with cats<br/>-Settles in his crate quickly- but he does need a strong non-wire crate as the first 5 minutes he try's his best to get out, but quickly gives up and settles. <br/>- Excellent car rider who enjoys being close to his person<br/>- Loves chews, bones, and treats; very food motivated and responsive to training<br/>- Playful and active; would enjoy a fenced yard or regular opportunities to run and explore<br/>- Observant, thoughtful personality<br/>- Quiet dog who rarely barks<br/>- Walks well on leash and is learning to navigate new environments with confidence<br/>- Enjoys following his people from room to room<br/>- Once comfortable, seeks out affection and loves relaxing beside his humans<br/><br/>Things to know:<br/><br/>- Can be shy and cautious with new people, especially when approached directly<br/>- Appears significantly more comfortable with women and may take much longer to build trust with men and young boys<br/>- Counter surfing is a favorite hobby, so keeping tempting items out of reach is recommended<br/>- Flighty when unsure and will benefit from patient, confidence-building guidance<br/><br/>Reuben is a sensitive soul who is looking for a patient family willing to let him build trust at his own pace. As we're 100% volunteer-run, your patience is appreciated!<br/><br/>Requirements And Donations<br/>- Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS).<br/>- Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards.<br/>- Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA.
