Renegade WVA/MN's Story

Renegade was originally welcomed into rescue in the Fall of 2021. He came to Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN from Baileysville WV when he was just 3-years of age. He had already endured more in three years than most in a lifetime. At three years of age, he tested positive for heartworm; a very preventable disease and an act of neglect for those breeding and containing dogs outdoors.

Renegade received the treatment and was adopted almost immediately after he was cleared. He went to a great home; a well adjusted family, and where he joined Asher, an AHFR Alumni fur-sibling. We kept in contact for a couple of years; the "boys" were always doing well.

Recently however, the family dynamics changed. The family split apart and reports of concern were received. Then came the call..."I need to surrender the boys back." A time and date was set, and this past week I made the trip to bring back Renegade and Asher. Both had been kept indoors for 14-18 hours a day, allowing all of their training to dissipate. Renegade was wearing a belly band when we met up. His genital area and belly were urine burned. They were happy and a healthy weight. I loaded the boys up and we headed back home.

Renegade is 7 years of age. His DOB is 09.30.2018. He will be receiving a dental on 06.10.2026, is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is neutered and microchipped.

Renegade will be available for adoption on 06.13.2026

If you are interested in giving Renegade the home and family that he deserves, please visit our website: almosthomefoster.com and submit an application.

Renegade does well with all other dogs, has lived with cats, is sure to capture the hearts of many. He is fun, full of Beagle energy and loves to walk. Patience and time is required to re-train this beautiful Beagle.

APPROVED APPLICATION REQUIRED TO SCHEDULE A MEET AND GREET

ADOPTION APPLICATIONS CAN BE ACCESSED ON OUR WEBSITE: almosthomefoster.com

Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization.
