Remington's Story

🐾Meet Remington🐾

Remington is a 1 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback and hie looking for a furever home! He was surrendered to us due to him being too much work for them.

Remington is up to date on all vaccines, deworming, prevention, is microchipped, heartworm negative, and is neutered! He is ready to go home. We're told that he does great with all people, is house trained, and crate trained. He is a very sweet boy, just nervous being here in such a strange and scary environment. At home, he opens up a lot. He does need a home without cats, and while we believe he will do ok with another dog if given the time, effort, and training to integrate them, he is not likely to be a dog who will seamlessly transiton to a home with other dogs right away. We have been told that he does resource guard high-value things like food, toys, or his person. He doesn't seem to have had much training so would do best with an experienced dog owner!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application on our website or in person. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. We are open Wed-Thu 12-7 and Fri-Sun 12-4 if you'd like to come visit!

(Please consider giving her a follow and supporting her work! Warrick Humane Society's Adoption Policy
The Warrick Humane Society is a no-kill organization. Once an animal is rescued by WHS, it is saved for life. We will not release an animal to another organization that has a policy of euthanasia. In addition, we will only place animals with qualified prospective owners. We do not adopt out dogs or cats that will be kept outside. We only want loving indoor homes for our pets. We do thorough checks on all of our potential adopters before sending them to their fur-ever home. We also require that if you adopt a pet from us and are no longer able to keep it that it be returned to us, so that we can find it a new home.
