Remi's Story

Remi is a 1-year young Dutch Shepherd mix who was found alone and unclaimed in an area known for abandoned dogs. She currently weighs 40 pounds but will fill out to at least 50 once matured.

This black-socked beauty had a few lessons to learn when she first entered rescue. She'd more than likely never had been in a home and quickly picked up crate training on her first night in foster care. She has found 2 best friends in the rescue- both fosters; Bingo the border collie and Valerie another Shepherd mix. The 3 play and gallop through the yard until it's time to come in for a nap.

Remi shows interest in toys but isn't quite sure yet how to play with them. She loves chewing on Benebones and antlers and can be found rolling a ball around the yard by herself until someone with more skills steals it.

This gentle girl has been warm and friendly to every stranger she's met; from our vet to the kids down the street, Remi is an easy match for friendship. We're not too sure of her relationship with cats. She came into the rescue not giving them a second glance but has now found them to be fascinating. The cats here are barn cats so there's a fence that separates them from a "true" test.

Remi prefers the company of her person over dogs but would also pair well with another canine companion in her future home as long as they're not too old. As a young girl, she has lots of get up and go and we want her to be successful in her pairing.

Remi is fully vetted and has received a 1 year Pro-heart shot for 12 months of Heartworm prevention. She is microchipped and ready for an active family looking for a forever friend.

All of our adopted dogs are transported using only trusted, reputable transport partners to ensure a safe journey to their forever homes up North.
