Regina is housebroken and is SO much better at calming down about her crate! She is on a schedule, which is helping her learn these skills faster and she is making GREAT strides! Regina goes into her kennel willingly when offered a treat, but prefers to spend her time hanging out with her humans! She’s nailed nudging the backdoor to signal to foster mom that she wants to go outside. This sweet girl already knows the commands “sit”, "paw", and "down", and is working on “leave it” and “off”. Regina is still trying to grasp the concept of returning the ball during fetch, but she definitely has the chase portion down! She also has mastered the art of asking for belly rubs!
Regina absolutely loves to hang out with people. She gives a few barks to say, “hello!” when she first meets someone and is learning how to stay “four on the floor” when she sees someone she knows, but do expect to get lots of affection from her after she settles. She’s met some older kids from 12-16, and had so much fun chasing the football they were throwing!
This laid-back queen doesn’t require a lot of exercise from her people. She’s good with a daily walk or two around the neighborhood and independent play! She’s caught on to what the leash means, and gets excited when she realizes she’s going on a walk! In fact one of her favorite games to play is “become a shadow” where she follows her human around trying to figure out what is going to happen next!
Regina LOVES toys and cuddles with her human! So much so, in fact, that she’ll spend hours just transferring every single one of her toys from room to room! Regina also LOVES squirrels - maybe too much, and will attempt to scale a fence in order to tease them! With this in mind, Regina would do best in a home with a high fence, or a backyard where she’ll be supervised.
She’d do best in a home without cats and where she is an only child, both of the canine and young human sort, because she thrives as the center of her people’s universe!
