RED's Story

Gentle Boy Red
Red is a gentle senior with a calm spirit and a quiet way of asking to be loved.

He’s the kind of boy who doesn’t need much—just a safe place and someone by his side. On walks, Red is easygoing and mellow, happy to stroll along at his own pace. He has a charming habit of making little U-turns to go back and sniff something he doesn’t want to miss, reminding you to slow down and enjoy the simple moments with him.

Red knows “sit,” comes when called, and has excellent manners—this is a “four on the floor” kind of gentleman. He may get a bit barky around certain large dogs, but with gentle reassurance, he settles quickly and looks to his person for comfort.

It can take him a moment to warm up, especially with treats, but once he feels safe, his affectionate side shines. He loves nothing more than sitting or lying beside you, soaking up soft back scratches and quiet companionship.

Red walks nicely on leash and carries himself with a peaceful, steady presence and will greet people.

If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion to share calm days and cozy moments, Red is ready to spend his golden years right by your side.

This sweet gentleman has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home. Looking for a buddy for your dog? Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we're a match! Check out his playgroup video here:

To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too.
